Bessie in heat

My kitten is in heat, she is 8 months old, this is her second time in a month. I can't tell if she is peeing on my furniture or leaking something from her heat process.. is it like she's having a period or something? do all cats leave a wet mark on furniture, not just a mark, it's soaked... what is this?

Female cats in heat do leak a little blood but usually it is easy to tell if it is blood or not. It sounds to me that it is more likely to be urine. In which case she may either have a urine infection of is marking her territory to attract males etc.

The best solution if you are not intending to breed her, is to have her spayed and at the same time have her checked for any urine infections.
