cat has stringy stuff in her eye

I have a new kitten and she might be 8 weeks old. She woke up with stringy crap in her eye? What could this be and how do I treat it?

Hi it may just be mucus whih sometimes builds up over night an she as not cleaned it away herself

The other possbility is that she may have an eye infecton

Cean it away with water and see if other symptoms occur which would indicate a cold etc or if the eye goo continues or gets worse in which case you will need to take her to the vets.
