Cat is hiding

My cat has all of a sudden been hiding more often. Lately also laying near his litter box. He is still eating, but eating less than usual. He is approximately 9 or 10 yrs old. Do you think this is more behavioral or physical?

Hi well it sounds behavioral but it is impossible to be 100% sure. If I were you i woud have him checked out by a vet to rule out any possible underlying illness, just to be on the safe side.

Hopefully it is just behavioural due to his age. It is not unusual for there to be small behavioural changes as cats get older. But as I say to be sure, a check up would be advisable.
