hey its your 10 year old friend/firestar again!!!im addicted 2 writing 2 u !!!your like my imaginary information person that i can always write 2.i know, im weird!im gonna be writing LOTS of letters 2 u! im just doin it 2 drive u crazy!haha,im kidin!i was wondering if cats have 9 lives.u see,when i found my cat named kiki,she was wasted in my garage with a broken pelvic bone,she was starving 2 death and she was dehydrated.how could she possably be alive? she had 2 have 9 lives!i dont mean 2 brag,but booya i saved a cats life!well,she lost 1 life but i saved the other 8!!!now shes FAT and LAZY!!! so do cats really have 9 lives?!?!? thanks!!!

No the nine lives theory is just a story it ndoes not literally mean they have nine lives. It stems from the fact that a cat is very good at landing on its feet when it falls etc and so seems to get out of trouble.

It just means that they seem to be very lucky and also very good at getting out of scrapes etc.

By the way good for you, saving a ill or injured cat is a wonderful thing to do. Too many people are horrible and cruel to animals, there have to be others to redress the balance.
