does she know?

my cat was lost for eight days and now that she is back she was all happy and cuddly. but then we were talking about putting her down and she is hiding under the bed all the time, is that normal?

I'm not sure if I have understoon your question. I am not sure why you were talking about putting her down.

Whether or not cats know what we are talking about is something that no one can say for certain. they may learn some words like food or their name but beyond that we just don't know.

Her behavior is probably down to her having to get used to her surrondings again after her adventure outside. and will probably settle down in a week or so.
