why does a cat poop on a childs bed? she has been doing it to my daughters bed for the past three weeks. she usses a liter box the rest of the time. but the cat does it when my daughter is in the bed at night a sleep.

It is a scenting issue. the smell of your daughter is proabably strongest oin the bed especially when she is in it. the cat may feel concerned about something and this area makes her feel secure and she wants to mak eit smell of her which will make her feel better about whatever it is that has upset her.

it is a very common problem and really the only thing to do is to make sure the door is shut so that she cannot get into the room and also perhaps confine her to another room with her litter tray. this should reinforce the litter tray as the place to ge and hopefully will break the cycle. please read my pages here on this site about cat urine problems for some more info on the subject.
