please help - cat losing fur and throwing up

My mom has a cat and it throws up a lot. Not only does it throw up, but it has been loosing fur for a long time, the vet said it was allergies, but we have been feeding it special cat food and it seems like it is a waste of money. The cat is very pitiful. It will walk and every so often it will shake its feet as if she is hurting. I dont know what to do, Please Help!!

Oh Ashley your cat does sound in a sorry state. I am surprised that the vet has not been able to help further. When was the last tije you took her to the vet, if it was some time now it really would be worth going back again. If your cat is suffering then only a vet can really help. Perhaps some further tests are needed to find out exactly what is causing the reaction. It could be something you are using in your home that the cat is allergic too. If you are not happy with your vets diagnosis try going to a different one, sometimes a fresh pair of eyes can see the solution better.
