Somethings wrong with my cat?

my cats been acting funny and breathing weird..for the past two weeks he hasnt had much energy and when you put you ear next to him you can hear him breathing..like his throat is congested..hes only 5yrs old..im debating on taking him to the vet..what should i do?

Hi well if this has been going on now for two weeks I think your answer is clear, take him to the vets as soon as possible. He may have an infection that is not clearing up and if left could become worse and perhaps affect other organs of his body.
A vet will be able to examine him fully and prescribe the correct course of medication.
