spraying inside litterbox

Can you tell me why my 1 1/2 year old part Siamese neutered male cat once in a while will lift his butt up while peeing in the litterbox and spray it up the side of the box and of course some ends outside the box? He doesn't do it all the time and I clean the box out once or twice a day, so it's not like he doesn't have room in the box to keep his butt down or that it's not clean.

Hi yes this is territory marking. even neutered cats will do this from time to time to make something smell more of them.

if you have other cats or animals around this could be a reason. or sometimes outside cats can be smelt by your cat and this will cause him to spray. Not a lot you can do about this i'm afraid, it is normal cat behaviour.
