Weird hair loss...

My cat is losing hair at the base of her tail. She's 12 and been living at the same place for 10 years. Any idea why she would all of a sudden be losing fur on the base of her tail?

Could be a parasite, or a skin condition or even stress, there are many possible causes as described on my page herehttps://our-happy-cat.com/cat-hair-loss.html.

However to really diagnose it the vet may have to take a skin scraping and at least that way you will know what you are dealing with.

I get a lot of people asking me a similar question and so hair loss around the tail is quite common, but i'm sure can be easily cured.
