4-5 week old kitten having problems!? PLEASE HELP!

Hello, we adopted a 3 week old kitten and an 8 week old kitten about 2 weeks ago. the 8 week old is great but the 3 week old is now scratching by her elbow and has scratched so much that it is red and bald now. What could be wrong with my kitten?

Poor kitty, she is very young indeed to be taken away from her mother, there must have been a reason.

Anyway as for the redness and baldness, sounds to me like a skin allergy or a parasite problem. At such a young age she really should go to the vets to have this looked at and treated as they can be very susceptible to infections at this young age. she may also be lacking in some natural protection as she is not getting her mothers milk to help build up her immune system.

the vet will be able to diagnose the problem and treat it, they will also be able to recommend which flea treatment is best at this young age to use. it is important to protect kittens from fleas as they can become anaemic very quickly due to blood loss caused by the fleas feasting .
