i have a year old cat and i jst got a 6 week old puppy today and my cat keeps trying to bite is neck. is she trying to bite him or what?

yes she probably is trying to bite him as he is a threat to her territory.

It is very important that new pets are introduced to each other carefully and slowly so that they can build confidence in each other and learn to live with each other without to many fights etc.
