Cat behaving strangely suddenly

My cat is running around like crazy, unable to stay still and flicking her tail very strangely.?

She also hissed and scratched me when I tried to pet her and her ears are warm to the touch. She's acting very weird, almost like a cat about to give birth (although she is fixed). Can anybody have a guess as to what is wrong with her? I'm calling the vet tomorrow.

She has had a problem with tapeworms before (she's been treated), but she just used the litter box and I saw no tapeworm fragments

sometimes a cat can get spooked and behave like this for no apparent reason. well known that we humans can see anyway.

the other possibility as you say is that she may not be feeling herself. My cat used to be like this when she was bitten by a flea. it turned out she was allergic to the bites and this made her very skittish. Even though we kept her flea free it only took one to jump on her and bite her outside and she would be off.

i think your right in telephoning the vet, it may well be that there is something wrong which is making her act this way.
