cat body odor

I have notice a odor coming from my cat.He is 17 yrs old can you tel me what this is from.Thank you

well although cats are meticulously clean animals sometimes as they get older it becomes more and more difficult for them to be able to clean themselves properly. this could be because of cat arthritis

Or if the cat is over weight it may be difficult to reach everywhere.

Also your cat is rather old now so there may be some tooth problems which could cause a smell too so it is worth taking her to see a vet to give her a full checkup to see if she may be in some discomfort.
