Cat Bum Sleeping

by Christine S.

My one year old tuxedo sleeps with his bum in the air; the front 3/4 of his body are flat on the floor or bed, but he uses his hind legs so that his bum is slightly elevated in the air...is there something wrong with him?

Well it depends if he does tis for long periods or not. My own cat will sometimes lie like this for a few seconds but not for long periods of time.

If he does do it for long periods then he may be in some discomfort in that area. He may have blocked glands. He should really have the area checked out by a vet as soon as possible if this behaviour continues.

best wishes Kate
