(Orrville,Oh)

About 3 days ago I noticed that the outer part of my kittens mouth was always extremely wet. Then today I noticed that it had gotten thicker and seemed almost like mucus...I'm not talking about a little bit...It was caked all over my cats mouth and anything she touched with her mouth was then stuck to her face...I have no idea what it is from?? Any ideaS?

Hi i don't like the sound of this. it does sound rather unusual. cat colds etc can include the symptoms of drooling but the symptoms are generally more noticeable around the eyes and nose. i.e mucus and weeping.

Have you checked inside the mouth to see if you can see anything. it sounds to me like there could either be a something stuck in the mouth, a thorn etc or your cat may have eaten something bad or poisonous. i really would advise that you take your cat to the vets asap. This is definitely not right and if it is either of the above causes then they will need urgent treatment before it gets any worse.

i really hope the vet can sort him out quickly for you both.

best wishes KAte
