Cat disappeared after spayed

my outside 7 month old kitten was spayed on friday released on saturday and last seen tuesday night. she seemed to be a little scary after the surgery. had never been kenneled before, was always a very loving kitten. do you think she is in hiding or has run away?

Hi
the same thing happened with my very first cat. I think he was so upset by the whole experience that he took himself off for a few days to recover his nerve, then when he was hungry enough he came back.

Its a shame that your female cat got out after the operation as I think it is recommended that they stay inside for a few days after surgery to allow the wound to heal. But never the less I think she is probably hiding somewhere.

Try calling her every hour or so, leave some food for her outside along with something that smells strongly or either her or you, a blanket etc. there sense of smell is very good and if she is a little way away this may help her return sooner.

i do have a page about things you can do to try and find your cat which you may find of further help here

Hope you find her soon

best wishes Kate
