Cat eating problems

Hello.

We just recently adopted a kittie that came to our door and was injured. We took him to the vet and he went to surgery he lost two of his canines. Now we are giving him some medicine and he was eating just fine some wet food and dry food as well. But today every time that I tried to feed him he tries to cover his food like if he was covering his feces or urine. so i do not understand if he is trying to tell me that the food is not good anymore and he needs another type of food? or why he is doing this to his food.

Ummm this is a little strange. i wonder if he is getting confused with his litter. Make sure his litter tray is no where near his eating area.

You could try him with another brand of food to see if this stops the behaviour.

It may just be a habit, my own cat paws at the water bowel before he drinks. i think it is something to do with just checking what it is.
