Cat is having trouble peeing

Hi, i have a 12 year old cat that has just startd constantly going to the cat litter tray (every 5 mins) but is not doing anything. On the odd occasion he has managefd to go toilet but most of the time its either next to nothing or nothing. He has also started to try going to the toilet all over my house. Do you think this cold be a bowl or kidney problem. Thank You Samantha

yes it could be a UTI infection or even a blockage. Male cats are more susceptible to these sorts of problems and he really does need to go and see a vet soon as it can be rather painful.
