cat is not eating as he used to eat..

my cat is 9 months old and he is not eating as he used to eat four full meals now he is eating one - two meals. Sometimes he gets playful otherwise he sleeps all the time. What should i do?

wow 4 full meals a day sounds like quite a lot for a 9 month old kitten. However as long as you are keeping within the daily recommended amounts indicated by your particular brand of cat food then thats fine.

cats do go through periods where they may feel a little under the weather and not feel like eating or playing very much. This normally only lasts for a few days.

If his behavior and eating habits have changed significantly (only you will be able to jusge this) and if it continues for more than 4 days then yes i would consider taking him to the vet for a check up.

lets hope it is just one of those things and that he will be back to his old self soon.

You could make sure that he does not have fleas or worms as these could both make him ill.
