Cat is Sore to Touch

by Racquel

For the past couple days my female cat (she is indoor only) has been sore to touch on her hip up to just in front of her tail on her right side. I can pet her head and the other side of her with no problem. Every so often she trys to clean the area but can't really reach. She eats, drinks, plays, purrs, jumps up on things so I'm not sure what the problem could be. I've been cleaning the litter everytime I've seen her use it, although it's only been pee when I've been there, but it's hard to be sure if she is pooping on not as I have another cat and I work all day so it's hard to keep track of. Do you think she maybe just got bruised from playing too rough, or falling off something? Or do you think it's maybe something else?

Thank you for your response!

Hi
well yes it is possible that she has possible bruised herself in some way and that is causing the discomfort. Although you also say that she cannot clean that area properly, so I am wondering if she is experiencing some stiffness too, which could be a sign of arthritis.

If the symptoms continue perhaps it would be a good idea to have her checked out by a vet just in case.
