Cat licking kittens bottom

I got a kitten 3 weeks ago and started to introduce her to my older cat slowly, my older cat has just started to lick lthe kittens bottom, is this a good sign? Does it mean that my older cat is starting to accept the kitten?

Ummm well it could mean that your older cat is showing maternal instinct towards your kitten as this behavior is often carried out my a mother cat.

However if she does it too often she will cause soreness to the kitten and in which case she should be stopped.

It does sound like your cat may be starting to get used to the kitten though.
