cat losing fur on one leg

My cat is an odd one. She is constantly chewing on her back and pulling out her hair. He right arm is almost completely bald, though I've never seen her pull hair off of her arm. I've taken her to the vet a couple of times for the balding arm problem and they said it just looks like she's pulling her hair out. I don't know if I believe that. I haven't seen her do it and it hasn't gotten any better. The skin there is white. I doesn't look irritated at all. Also, I've noticed that recently she meows every time I touch the base of her tail. Like she doesn't like it. She seems fine. I don't think she's in any pain. She's eating and going to the bathroom normally. She's still playing. What do you think it could be?

well cats can do something called over grooming when they are anxious and this can cause fur loss. please see my page about the various causes of fur loss here

if you are concerned about the base of the tail then get the vet to take a look just in case their is a problem which may be the cause of your cats anxiety.
