Cat losing weight & growling when going to bathroom

at my other cat and me if i try to pet him.

Buster is losing weight but eats plenty, but his twin brother Jinx is not losing weight and is fine.
From what i see, he has no worms, and i brush him and jinx with a flea comb 3 to 4 times a day.
They both go out at night for a few hours to play, and i know fleas can cause worms but neither has them.

And besided Jinx isn't losing weight only buster is....and he growls if i get too close while he's going to the bathroom.
Why is this?

buster is the one on the right, light grey tabby, he's much skinnier than his brother now.

Hi
There are several conditions which can cause weight loss even though the cat is still eating, one of them is a thyroid condition

The only way to know for sure what is causing the problem is to take your cat to the vets for some tests.

Loosing weight is a serious condition and needs to be treated sooner rather than later because eventually the cat will start to loss muscle too once all the fat is gone.

As for the growling well this may be connected or it may just be that your cat likes to be left alone when he is using the bathroom or it may be causing him some pain to go. As I say your only option is to take him to the vets as soon as you can.

I hope he is better soon

best wishes Kate
