Cat meowing after being outside?

Hi,

I have an 8 year old half Siamese half Balinese cat. He has been an outside cat all his life. Recently we've been on holiday for 7 days and put him into a cat motel. He was making deep meowing sounds in the car on the way back and I took him out of his cage so I could hold and comfort him (he looked out the window a bit). Now that he's back home, he goes outside for a few minutes and comes back meowing and possible agitated, i'm a bit worried as we have put him into the cat motel before, the most at a month, and he has never done anything like this before. I am wondering if this is caused by stress from the car trip and being able to look outside when we were driving? Please help =]

I wouldn't worry too much. It sounds to me like he just needs a few days to settle down again into his home. Cats can become a little anxious with change and need some time to calm down again.

he may also be very happy to be hope again and is is rather excited by this, this can also be a cause for cats to call. My own will call only when they are excited.
