cat meows she dont like to be pick up

my cat meows all the time when she does see you she meows more when try picking her up. she meows trying to get away she dont like being pick up way is that but she like lay in your lap by your feet way is she acting like this

hi don't worry some cats just simply do not like being picked up. my old cat used to hate it. we had her for over 17 years and every time we tried to pick her up she would instantly struggle to get away but she was the most loving and affectionate cat you could meet.

the only thing you have to make sure is that she is not crying out because she is in any pain when you pick her up. While she is standing on the floor, gently squeeze her around the middle and around her legs to make sure that there is nothing causing her to cry out.

Make sure also that when you are picking up your cat (which i would not recommend you do too often if she does not like it) is to make sure you are holding her properly so that she feels safe. See this page for some information about this here
