cat missing. but found.

I have two cats brother and sister, both are fixed. The boy cat was missing for a few days he had never done this. He was hurt when he came back. We took him to the vet and he ended up being fine. Now my other cat the girl will not go near him and hiss at him. They have been together for there hole lives (9 years) and they have had there fights in the past but they got along before he was gone. so i just wanted to know why is she acting like this?

yes this is a common problem. It is called trauma aggression. basically your female cat is afraid of the male cat probably because he smells different ie from the vets and also the recent experience of him going missing then reappearing.

usually things settle down after a time but I always recommend a period of reintroduction using the process described on this page here
