Hi, I just wanted to let you know you aren't alone. My frustration has grown and I feel the same with regard to options i.e. no more alternatives. My cat is the same age and has had very similar urinating problems. He has a clean bill of health, etc...He is very sweet and getting rid of him goes against my nature because I fear someone else will not care for him as I do. I have tried many options including keeping the light on in the litter room 24/7. What can we do? I wish I had answers for this one. I can't bare the thought of getting rid of him.
Cat peeing by: Victoria
Similar to the other person, I've had my cat since she was 8 weeks old. She is now 14 years old and has peed on stuff for the ENTIRE TIME! As I write this she is in the basement bathroom with just a litter box and food. I can't put anything down for her to lay on because she pees on that. She's peed on everything from couches (yes more than one) to her heated bed, to clothing, to just about everything. We had to rip up carpet in the basement of our new home because she peed all over it. Now she's starting to pee upstairs. She's very high strung, which I think as part of her personality is also part of the peeing problem. I really don't know what to do after 14 years of this.

This does sound sever. Have you taken her to the vets to see if she has a medical condition which could be causing this?
They may even be able to give you something to help calm her down if it is caused by her being over anxious.

Yes I agree something is causing it but I have to figure it out soon. Thanks for your answer. The smaller room thing I will try, that I have not tried yet. Thanks for your answer.
