Cat sits backwards

by Jack Miller

my wife and myself have a question, at night when she is sleeping our female cat lays backwards on her very close to her face, she does this only at night do you know what this may be?

Answer by Kate
No this is nor unusual my own cat likes to sleep quite close to my face when i let her at night.

I am not sure why they like to do this, i can only guess that they like to smell our skin which would be comforting to them.

best wishes Kate

Round up the wagons

It's really quite simple. Your face is one of the most vulnerable parts of your body. She is simply taking up a guarding position as if laying in the opposite direction you are performing the same function as the westerners did by putting the wagons in a circle. She is trying to prevent anyone from sneaking up from behind you and trust you to do the same to guard her flank.
