Cat throwing up food
by Toni
My two year old male neutered cat started throwing up his dry cat food and it was not digested on Sunday evening, he then started throwing up a yellow bile on Monday I thought that he might of had a hairball but didn't notice any hair in what he throwed up. I had noticed that his stomach is somewhat swollen and he is also very quiet and sleeps more and somewhat lethargic, could this be a sign of kidney infection? My cat eats Friskie dry food for indoor cats .
Thanks
Toni

Hi
well my first thought was perhaps he was eating too fast i.e gulping it down, causing him to throw up. However this would not cause the swollen stomach.
I am not a vet and so cannot diagnose but would suggest that he has either eaten something which has caused a tummy upset or he has eaten something poisonous.
Sometimes cat food can go off without realising it, so it could be that. However if he is still the same today then I would take him to the vets to be on the safe side. You can never be too careful, any sign of illness if it continues needs to be investigated by a vet.
best wishes Kate
