cat troubles

What does it mean if a cat is in heat,she attracts the male cat and he then hops on top of her,then she fights him off?why does she do that?

Thats just seems to be the way cats mate. It could be that she doesn't like this particular cat and is warning him off.

Sometimes the female cat can play hard to get and has to be 100% ready to mate before she will allow any male cat near her.

Also it can be very painful for a female cat to mate and so they can be rather tetchy when a male cats tries to mate.
