Why do cats try to bury their food?

hi
well they don't as general rule. i haven't personally seen this behavior and so cannot comment much. All i can assume is that you may have a particularly nervous cat or one that was once a stray and is worried about other cats coming and eating his food.

perhaps other visitors will be able to comment further if they have witnessed this behavior themselves.
