My cat started urinating in an area on my steps to the basement. We had her tested and she had crystals in her urine. They gave her a special food to eat to dissolve the crystals and told us to come back in a month. We did and they checked her again and her test came back negative, no crystals in urine. Now we have her on more special food that prevents crystals from forming and thought she was doing a lot better but she has begun to urinate on the steps again. My vet thinks it purely behavioral but did not give me much help with ideas on how to get her to stop urinating there and go in her litter box. She is an 8 year old female and we also have a 4 year old male. Help! How can I get her to stop urinating in that spot?
