Cats strange behavior

the cat is weeing by the door. when he needs to wee he starts really meowing and lays down after squating somewhere in the house.

i am wondering if he may have a UTI or even a small blockage as these can be uncomfortable which could account for his meowing at the same time and also the need to go.

Whenever a cats behavior changes significantly it is nearly always an indication of something being wrong. I think your best option would be to have him checked by a vet to see if there is an infection. I have a web page about UTI's which you may find of further interest here
