I REALLY MISS THIS

I REALLY MISS THIS

I HAVE 2 CATS I RAISED FROM LIL KITTENS THAY ARE ABOUT 2 YEARS OLD NOW. THAY ARE BROTHERS THE ALFA AND THE RUNT THAY HAVE ALL WAYS GOT ALONG GREAT. IN FACT THATS WHY I GOT 2 KITTENS INSTED OF 1 BECAUSE THAY GOT ALONG SO WELL.

THE RUNT (CRASH) HURT HIS LEG SUM HOW EATHER A BITE OR SOMETHING A BIG ABERRATION ON HIS ANCLE. SO I TOOK HIM 2 THE VET THAY SHAVED & STITCHED HIM UP. THAY GAVE ME SUM LIQUID ANTIBIOTIC & A DRUG 2 KEEP HIM CALM SO THE WOND CAN HEAL. OH YA A HEAD CONE SO HE WOULDN'T BITE OUT HIS STITCHES. WHEN I BROUGHT HIM HOME HE WENT UNDER THE BED 2 SLEEP OFF THE STRESS OF THE CAR RIDE & THE STITCHES HE GOT AT THE VET.

LATER THAT DAY I NOTICED MY OTHER CAT (CHETO THE ALFA) HANGING AROUND OUTSIDE LOOKING A LITTLE LONLEY . SO I BROUGHT HIM IN TO SEE HIS BROTHER. I SET HIM DOWN AT THE EDGE OF THE BED & SHINED A FLASH LIGHT ON HIS LIL BROTHER SO HE COULD SEE HIM. WHEN HE SAW HIS LIL BROTHER I DON'T THINK HE RECOGNIZED HIM WITH THE HEAD CONE ON . BECAUSE HE JUMPED UP IN THE AIR , STARTED HISSING & GROWLING AT HIM.

ITS BEN 2 DAYS & WHEN EVER HE SEES HIS BROTHER HE HISSES & GROWLS AT HIM . SUM TIMES HE WILL EVEAN SWIPE AT HIM IF HE GETS 2 CLOSE & THIS
IS WITHOUT THE HEAD CONE ON. I TRYED TO PUTT HIS OLD SENT BACK ON HIM BY RUBBING HIM DOWN WITH A OLD T SHIRT THAY BOTH SLEEP ON & I GOT CLAWED IN THE FACE WHEN I TRYED TO SHOW HIM IT WAS HIS LIL BROTHER. I CANT FIGURE OUT IF HE DOSNT RECOGNIZE HIM OR IF SUM-THING HAPPENED BETWEEN THEM I DIDNT SEE.

PLEASE HELP ME I AM VERY STRESSED OUT ABOUT THIS & I REALLY DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT

THANK YOU

PAUL S.

Hi Paul
firstly let me tell you this is not an uncommon problem. It is called aggression trauma and happens when something happens or changes which frightens one of the cats. In this instance your other cat looks different, probably smells a little different from the vets office and may even be behaving a little differently. All of these things can upset and frighten another cat and so they act aggressively.
the trick is to help the cats build their confidence again in each other so that the fear is no longer present. unfortunately the only way to do this does take a little time and effort on your part but is worth it in the end. you need to follow the process of introduction discussed on this page here

https://www.our-happy-cat.com/introducing-cats.html

yes it can take a little time but it is the best way to allow your cats to get used to each other again without the fear of attack etc.

best wishes kate
