clear gooey substance in my cats eye

what does it mean if my cat has a clear gooey substance on her eye which is making her barely open her eye?

Hi well she may have an eye infection which needs treatment, please see my page about eye problems it will give you more details about the different conditions etc to do with the eye.

She really should to see a vet as soon as possible especially as she is having difficulty opening it.
