Fearful, hiding cat

My cat has started running away from us & hiding and doesn't even come out to eat. She acts like she's afraid of us. Is she sick?

well this is a difficult question to answer. It all depends if her other behaviour has changed also. For instance does she still eat and drink and use the litter as normal? Any change in these could also indicate a illness of some sort.

If she is well in all other ways then it is purely behavioural and may have been caused by something which has frightened her and which she has blamed on you, such as a loud noise, having her tail trod on etc etc. It may have been nothing to do with you like a noise outside or seeing a another cat outside.
