feeding a cat & dog at the same time

What's the best procedure - putting them in different rooms, feeding them at different times, or standing guard while they eat together so that the dog doesn't eat all the cat food? Thanks.

the best option is to feed them at different times and then removing any remain food so that the other does not nibble at it later.
