Female Persian cat on heat?
by Mari

My female persian is seven months old and has started making strange sounds constantly. She is usually very quiet. Could she be in heat? If so, can she be spayed now or do I have to wait until she is out of heat? I would consider letting her have a litter of kittens, but I don't know where to find her a mate.

Hi
yes it could very well be that she is in heat and yes you can certainly make an appt with the vet to have her spayed.
There is no need to let her have a litter , There are already too many cats without homes and last year there was so many unwanted Kittens born that i know the shelters had a very hard time finding them all homes. So Having cats neutered or spayed is really the best option to stop any more unwanted cats. there are also some health benefits to having your cat spayed too.
I have several pages about the benefits etc of spaying which you may find of further interest here
