FHS, fleas or something more?

Last year my cat had FHS symptoms, so I took him to the vet and it turned out to be fleas. I had home treating and his symptoms decreased dramatically but didn't completely go away. Over the last several weeks, I noticed them coming back. I figured maybe fleas again, so I got some advantage and treated him again. The symptoms have again decreased but not nearly as much as I'd hoped. He is still licking frantically, running around and now licks the floor during his episodes. I have a vet appointment for the 16th but I am trying to see if I can figure out for sure what it is, so I don't have to spend the money. I have uploaded a video on YouTube showing what he does during these episodes, what to do you think? Thanks in advance :)

well yes it could be that he still has fleas or he may also be allergic to flea bites. My cat was and even if one got on her and bit her she would twitch, lick, scratch and run around like mad trying to get away from the irritation. the vet can give an injection which eases the irritation and also helps to prevent further attacks. but it is vital that your cat is kept flea free all the time so a regular monthly treatment of advantage is necessary.
Also have you treated the house? if not then what can happen is that the cat and his environment just keep infecting each other.
i have some pages about how to treat the house etc here

I do think you need to take your cat to the vet again just in case as i say he is allergic to bites, he is obviously not very happy at the moment and must be fed up with the constant irritation.
I hope he is better soon
