help cat can't sit down

Hi,

My cat who is about 5 months old is having some problems with its rear end (butt). It cant sit down on its butt. It sits down but it keeps its butt up when it does. This has been happening for 2 days now. However, sometimes it feels fine and sits normally. I dont know what to do. Im wondering if its constipation or something more serious. Any response will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

sounds to me like there is a problem in that area but what could be causing it is very difficult to say.

Have you checked for fleas or some other parasite in that area?

Can you see any redness or swelling?

However if your cat is in enough discomfort as to prevent them from sitting, they really do need to see a vet. There are so many possible causes including blocked anal glands.
