hurt stray cat

i just recently found a stray cat and it seems as if he has a hurt leg. in the couple of days that hes been here it seems as if its been biting at its hurt leg. it looks purpleish and blood seems to be coming out. he also just recently started meowing a lot especially when i try to pick him up. what is wrong with him and what should i do?

looks very nasty to me, there are many possibilities as to what it could be. from a bruise caused by being hit or falling, this may also have caused internal injuries. it could be a skin condition such as mange or ring worm. It may even be an infection caused by a bite.

In any case the only and best thing you need to do is to get this poor cat to a vets as soon as possible. Or if you do not intend to look after it yourself an animal shelter 9who will treat him and find him a home).

It is important that this cat gets some medical treatment soon, the crying would indicate that he is in some distress or pain and so it is not fair to let him suffer (which I'm sure you would never do).
