I'm Slightly Confused about my cat

Hi, my name is Philip.

I've recently brought the family cat into my new home,
my mum adopted a young girl, and sadly she is allergic to cats.
So keeping her in the family my mum asked me if I wanted to take her,
I gladly said yes as she was originally bought as a pet for me when I was a little younger.
She is 6 years old now.

The problem I have is that she has been in the house for over 2 days now,
and although she is in a quiet room,
with her litter tray, food/water, toys etc.
She hasn't been to the toilet since she got her.
I'm a little worried,
she has always been litter trained from a young age,
so she understands where she is supposed to be doing her business.
Is this normal?
i had a feeling that it might be because she isn't comfortable enough too,
but if I'm honest, I don't know if it is normal for cats to not poo or wee for this long.
Any help would be appreciated.

hi yes it is unusual for a cat not to have passed water in that time. I think it could be due to the fact that she still feels a little unsure of her new surroundings. keep her in her safe room and see if she is drinking anything.

If you suspect that she still has not passed anything in another day i would say you need to take her to see a vet because if she is holding herself she may cause herself some harm inside. There could also be a blockage so its better to be on the safe side.

Spend some time with her and play some little games etc to try and relax her and distract her from her anxious this may help to relax her enough to go.

best wishes Kate

Ok, thanks a lot kate.
I'll try playing with her a little.
She is seeming more relaxed now,
but sadly still hasn't 'been'.
I'll more than likely take her to the vet tomorrow.
The worry is too much.
Thanks for all your help
Philip
