kitten shots

We have a kitten that is about 9 weeks old. She had her first shot today, and now seems to be quiet, and maybe a little lifeless. She seems to be shivering as if she's cold. Could these be side effects of the shots?

Hi
yes it could, sometimes vaccinations can cause a slight illness afterwards as the body gets used to the dose. A vaccination is a mild form of the illness and is designed to help the body built up it's own defence. So it is not unusual for some slight effects to be seen.

make sure your cat has a quiet place to sleep which is warm not too hot and that they have plenty to drink.

if the symptoms do not pass in 24 hours then give the vet a call for some more advice.

best wishes kate
