Kittens meowing while using litter box

by SweetfacesMom

My little Sweet Face gave birth to her first litter of kittens a little over a month ago. Everything has been going great and we have really enjoyed watching the little ones. They have recently started using the litter box and I've noticed that a couple (possibly all, not sure) will meow when they use the litter box. I've tried wet and dry food and they still do the same thing. Otherwise they seem to be just fine. What's going on? Is this just a quirk? Their mother doesn't do it. Thanks. :)

Hi
I have heard of this happening before and I don't think there is a definitive answer. personally as long as they are able to pass stools and urinate then I wouldn't worry. i think it is more of a reassuring issue i.e "I'm in a scary place and a little vulnerable so here I am mummy, watch me"

My own cat yells her head off after she has been and we have never worked out why.

best wishes Kate
