Why does my cat lick me when i scratch her back right above her tail?

Hi, well i think that this question has no definitive answer i'm afraid. i have seen this before and I don't think anyone has ever come up with an answer.

personally i think it is just a reaction to a pleasurable experience. A sort of automatic response.

I don't think there is any actual meaning to it just simply a repayment thank you from your cat to you. After all who doesn't like to receive a lick from their cat. :)
