male cat aodres my oven

my male neutured 4 year old cat pees on my oven , every so often, why and how can i stop this behavior?

Try to make sure that you spray or clean your oven with a strong smelling citrus cleaner. This should help to deter him from the area.

Also every time you see your cat on the work surface, quietly pick him up and put him on the floor straight away. Make no fuss just do it quickly and every time you see him on there. Eventually he will stop getting up there as often. I did this with my cat who kept getting into my sink.

Also if he is not neutered, having this done would also help to stop him scent marking.
