mean neutered cat

(STL)

I have a 9 month old cat. Early on he was pretty mean and a little aggressive. He would try and bite your fingers and hands when you would pick him up. Only wanted to be petted if it were his idea. After awhile he seemed to calm down.

But on 12/23 he was neutered. And ever since then he has been much meaner then he even was initially. Hissing when he is being petted and stiffening up and agitated if you put him in your lap. He also is bending the blinds in my apartment when he is looking outside and tearing up part of the linoleum by the front door which is obviously a big deal.

Thanks

Dave

well I don't think it has anything to do with him being neutered. Instead it has more to do with a kitten full of energy with nothing to keep him occupied and stimulated metally.

usually at this time he would be learning to hunt, stalk, play, climb etc with his litter mates or mother.

Basically you have to make his home environement as positive and as stimulating as possible for him, so that he can do all those things without destroying your home.
