mother cat attacking kittens

I have a mother cat with 4 week old kittens. She is getting very rough with them. Is this normal?

well it may look rough but probably isn't. She is probably only instilling a sense of discipline in them as kittens will learn a lot of life lessons from their mum for the foist two months.

Obviously make sure that she is not drawing blood etc, if she is then I would advise speaking to your vet in case the mum cat has something wrong with her, perhaps a hormone imbalance.
