Our cat is just about a year old, but she's very small (only about 5 punds). She is constantly hungry and has been ever since we found her. She will eat anything she can find, even trying to eat off of our plates at dinner time. Every time someone walks into the kitchen she runs in meowing and begging for food...even if she has just been fed. On top of this, she has very soft and sometimes runny stools. She also has long hair, and usually the stool gets into her tail fur and she tracks it around the house. We've also experienced what can be described as 'explosive' bowl movements that end up on the walls and floor. We're worried about her insaitable eating, her small size, and her bathroom issues. Do vets usually test for diabetes in cats as a routine exam?
